Collection: Pierre Vaquez

Pierre Vaquez, born in 1963, lives and works in Paris. He is an intaglio engraver, known as "manière noire”. This technics requires incredibly hard work to bring light out of the dark. Beyond technical prowess, the talent of this singular engraver lies in sublimating the beauty of contrasts and the softness of black. It's a way of expressing an imagination nourished by silent films, literature and comic strips, which he offers with humor and poetry to art lovers of all ages, in a double-edged, profound and delicate universe.

Since 2005, he has taken part in numerous exhibitions and events focusing on printmaking, and illustrated three children's albums by Didier Levy published by Sarbacane: “Aspergus et moi” (2017), “Le Train Fantôme” (2019), “Olo, naissance d'un héros” (2022) and "Charlie's follies" (2025)
