Collection: Mireille Saltron

Mireille Saltron's studio in the family farmhouse and surrounding area is both a haven and a source for her etching work. She articulates an alphabet of small 10x10 zinc plates to create worlds based on minerals and water, the most recent being more plant-based. Her palette of looks is nourished, among other things, by small, insignificant and sometimes even invisible bits of these places: the crack of a pebble, the mauve of a schist, the lace of a twig... The Vert de bitume series is inspired by the roads of the South, where the melted asphalt reveals the most beautiful blacks from which perennial vegetation emerges from all the interstices. If this declension of tiny journeys can be infinite, it always remains in a quest for calm and balance.
