Collection: Jean-Marie Marandin

Groping his way, like the parable addressed to the Pharisees, Jean-Marie Marandin seeks the truth of expression, guided by a line of blind men. Linguist, poet, artist, his engraved work is a synthesis of his research.

In 2013, he swapped his linguistics research hat at the CNRS for that of artist and image philosopher. He works in etching, silkscreen, serigraphy, drawing and installation. He works on a project-by-project basis, exploring issues both conceptually and plastically. The result is a series in which he uses printing techniques not to reproduce, but to vary. On two occasions, the organizers of the Journées de l'estampe contemporaine have entrusted him with the carte blanche (podium) space, where he shows works freed from the traditional printmaking format. He publishes in Les Nouvelles de l'estampe.
